Brian Corbett and Jonathan Thomson were instrumental in putting our deal together, nurturing it and bringing it to fruition. We learned that every deal process has its ups and downs and at times, we were overwhelmed, but JT and Brian helped to give guidance and assurances to make the process less overwhelming. With their seasoned expertise, we were able to work through challenges and bring the sale to completion. The project was a huge success thanks to CCG's considerable time and attention."

Chris Carmouche and his family acquired the maintenance division, partnered with one of the original founders - Steve Matcha - and rebranded the company as SunTerra Landscape Services. Following the transaction, the management team opened two additional branch offices, expanding the company's presence to include locations in Austin, Dallas Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. The new owners invested in infrastructure and IT systems, built a first-rate management team and were able to double the company's top-line revenue in spite of the Great Recession. With nearly 250 employees, and maintaining over 400 properties, SunTerra has distinguished itself from local and national competitors through the combination of large company capabilities and infrastructure and the personal touch of a locally-owned enterprise.

Feeling that the time was right to realize their investment, the company, with their longtime advisor, green industry expert Judy Guido, contacted CCG Advisors, the market-leading landscape mergers and acquisitions experts. In what was truly a team effort, SunTerra, Guido and CCG explored all options available to allow the Carmouche family to sell their interests while positioning the company for continued growth. The decision was made to become the Texas platform of Merit Service Solutions, a portfolio company of L2 Capital. The addition of SunTerra provides Merit a platform in all major markets of Texas, expanding their self-performing footprint outside the Northeast, where the company is based. Judy McNew, SunTerra COO, will lead the Texas operations and become a member of the Merit executive leadership team.
